Paws in Motion w/ Carolyn Tan
Introduction to SpeedWay games and basic handling foundations.
Service Description
Whether your goal is agility, CPE SpeedWay, canine freestyle (dog dancing), rally, trick dog, obedience, or simply building a more engaged and confident companion, Paws in Motion Introduction teaches the essential skills every sport dog needs. Using positive reinforcement, games, and low-impact equipment, dogs and handlers will develop communication, confidence, body awareness, impulse control, and teamwork. Throughout the course, students will work with tunnels, barrels, and hoops while learning how to confidently navigate equipment, respond to handler cues, and perform short obstacle sequences. A special emphasis is placed on movement skills, teaching dogs and handlers how to move together smoothly and confidently—an essential foundation for virtually every canine sport. Paws in Motion – Introduction to Dog Sports is the recommended starting point for all students interested in canine sports and serves as the prerequisite for Paws in Motion: SpeedWay, where teams progress to CPE SpeedWay-style courses with increased independence, handling skills, and flowing obstacle sequences. Your Registration Includes • Four weekly in-person training sessions • Virtual follow-up support between classes • Access to a private Facebook support group • Video demonstrations and training resources • Weekly practice exercises and homework • Progress evaluations and individualized instructor feedback throughout the course • Foundation skills that prepare your dog for future training in agility, CPE SpeedWay, canine freestyle, trick dog, and other dog sports • Certificate of course completion Payment will be made directly with Carolyn.
